About the street
Avenue de la Costa climbs from the Carré d'Or towards the French border at Beausoleil. Its Belle Époque villas – the Villa Pax of 1883 with its colonnaded rooftop pavilion, the Villa Esméralda of about 1887 – have mostly given way to apartment blocks; on the Esméralda's site at no. 15 stands the Synagogue Edmond-Safra, opened in 2017.
