About the street

This stretch of the Circuit de Monaco runs along Port Hercule. The race was the idea of Antony Noghès of the Automobile Club de Monaco, first held in 1929 and won by William Grover-Williams; the harbour section with the Piscine and Rascasse corners was reshaped over the years, and in 1955 the start moved here, to the straight beside the promenade that now holds the pits.
