About the street

Boulevard du Jardin-Exotique – formerly the Boulevard de l'Observatoire – runs two kilometres across Les Moneghetti and the Jardin Exotique, above Fontvieille. It is a street of institutions: the Jardin Exotique itself at no. 62, the Musée d'Anthropologie préhistorique, the NMNM's Villa Paloma of 1913 at no. 56, the Antoinist temple of 1913, the Théâtre des Muses in the old bread oven, and the blue-minareted Villa Ispahan of 1910 at no. 57. Some of its Belle Époque villas – the Palais du Midi, the Villa Blanche, the Venetian-style Villa Grace – still stand.
