About Jardin Exotique
Jardin Exotique – Giardin esoticu in Monégasque – takes the western heights of the principality, the cliff above Fontvieille and the slopes up to the French border. Since 2013 it has included the former quarters of La Colle and Les Révoires, and it was historically part of the old commune of La Condamine.
The quarter takes its name from the garden that hangs on its cliff. At the foot of that cliff, called the Observatoire after a small astronomical observatory that once stood there, a cave at about 100 metres above the sea has been opened to visitors. Higher still, the Chemin des Révoires, a border road, reaches the principality's highest point.
Along Boulevard du Jardin Exotique stand the Musée d'Anthropologie préhistorique, founded in 1902, and the Villa Paloma, one of the two homes of the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco; above them spread the Princess Grace hospital and towers such as Le Simona, 90 metres, completed in 2012.
