The Centre Hospitalier Princesse-Grace is Monaco's only public hospital. Honoré V had a hospital built in the Salines quarter in 1818; on the same site Albert I opened the modern Hôpital Prince Albert in 1902, with 130 beds, renamed in 1958 after Princess Grace. A new-generation hospital has been under way on Avenue Pasteur since a tender of 2006.
