About the street

Avenue des Spélugues keeps the name of the barren plateau – the Spélugues – on which François Blanc built the Casino before it became Monte-Carlo in 1866. It runs down past the Métropole shopping centre to the Fairmont of 1975, built over the sea at the Grand Prix hairpin; along the way are Rampoldi with Antonio Salvatore's one-star table, Nikki Beach on the Fairmont roof and the watchmakers of the Carré d'Or.
