About the street

Avenue Saint-Martin, named after Martin of Tours, runs along the southern cliff of the Rock from the cathedral to the Oceanographic Museum, inaugurated in 1910 at its far end. Below it hang the Jardins Saint-Martin, Monaco's oldest public gardens, laid out from the 1800s, with their sculptures – Albert I as a sailor among them – and on the cliff edge stands the principality's prison.
