About the street

The Place d'Armes – everyone calls it the Place du Marché – sits between La Condamine and the Rock and is one of the centres of Monégasque life. Its market has been held since 1880; the square grew from gardens into the junction of the roads to the Rock, to La Turbie and to Nice, gained a tram and later a bus stop and the parking under its arcades. Inside and around the market hall today: Moshi Moshi's Japanese counter, A Roca's Monégasque specialities, a butcher, gelato and a dozen cafés and counters.
