The house
The Crillon is one of the two identical stone palaces Ange-Jacques Gabriel built on the Place de la Concorde from 1758 – the other is the Hôtel de la Marine.
Behind its colonnade, on 6 February 1778, France and the young United States signed their first treaties.
A family home for more than a century, it became a hotel in 1909 under the architect Walter-André Destailleur, and has been listed as a monument historique since 1900.
Restored from 2013 to 2017, it received the Palace distinction in 2018; its 124 rooms include 46 suites.
